| Dr. Ruediger Berlich is originally a physicist who has worked for particle
physics experiments in the US and Europe. He served as founder and Managing
Director of SuSE Linux Ltd., the UK branch of SuSE Linux AG (today Novell). Before this, he was Technical Manager of SuSE's US office in Oakland/California. His current duties comprise technical and management activities in the field of Grid computing. Within Germany and Switzerland, he is heading the PR efforts of the largest EU Grid initiative - "EGEE". In order to complement his practical business knowledge, he has pursued MBA studies at Steinbeis Business Academy, covering the topic of "Open Source business models". These studies were completed in February 2009. Ruediger Berlich is also preparing a spin-off (Gemfony scientific -- see www.gemfony.com) from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, dealing with distributed solving of complex technical optimization problems. |
