| The EU initiative Enabling Grids for E-Science has built a global, Linux-based compute infrastructure of over 150000 CPU cores, running an average of 330000 programs each day. About half of these jobs stem from the (in-)famous LHC experiments at CERN/Geneva. Many other application domains are covered as well. The 6-year project lifetime will end in April 2010. The presentation summarizes what EGEE has achieved during its project lifetime and will also highlight the connection to todays Cloud-initiatives. |
